Our hens layed their first egg today. I'm guessing it's from one of the Marans as it is a mid-brown, medium to large egg and much browner than the pale eggs we were used to getting from the previous Light Sussex hens.

About Stonecroft
Stonecroft is an acre and a bit (0.5 hectares) of hillside in a South Wales valley and it's where I live with my family. We moved here for the land with the urge to develop it into our space. One day it will look great - landscaped and planted to our designs. In the meantime, it's already proved productive in fruit and vegetables. There's always plenty to learn, so hopefully I'll get some useful advice and share what I find out along the way.
